The Performing Arts Club (Oaktree’s Wednesday afternoon school) was very excited to perform a ‘Mini Musical’ of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ to their peers and parents. They chose the story in February before half term and subsequently selected the songs, their roles, designed the invitation, and also made the scenery.
Miss Katka and Miss Barbara were extremely proud of their ability to learn the songs so quickly and the enthusiasm they demonstrated approaching every rehearsal and the final performance. The children combined the skills that they had developed during the term which resulted in a brilliant and entertaining performance. The big bad wolf expressions were simply exquisite. The highlight was observing the entire nursery watch the show with genuine excitement and support for their friends. We loved the standing ovation and the show inspired many conversations in the following days.
